Frequently Asked Questions
What age group do you serve?
We serve adolescents ages 11–17, providing tailored coaching focused on executive functioning and self-advocacy skills. Our programs are designed to meet their unique developmental needs during these critical “foundation-setting” years.
How does the coaching process work?
Our coaching follows a “Structural Scaffolding” approach. Each participant (the Apprentice) is paired with a Near-Peer mentor and overseen by a Lead Architect (Adult Mentor). Together, they draft a “Personal Blueprint” that identifies specific executive functioning hurdles—like time management or emotional regulation—and build the mental frameworks necessary to overcome them through weekly 1-on-1 sessions and group workshops.
What is the Founder’s Circle?
The Founder’s Circle is a dedicated group of inaugural donors who provide the “cornerstone” funding for our organization. Members of the Circle receive “Lead Architect” status, permanent recognition in our annual report, and exclusive VIP invitations to the Advocate’s Gala, where they can see the direct impact of the scaffolding they’ve helped build.
What exactly is “Near-Peer” mentorship?
What exactly is “Near-Peer” mentorship? Think of a Near-Peer as a “Site Foreman.” They are older teens (16–18) who are only a few steps ahead of our younger apprentices. Because they have recently navigated the same social and academic structures, their guidance is more relatable and immediately actionable. They bridge the gap between the professional wisdom of the Lead Architect and the daily reality of the Apprentice.
What is the significance of the custom-inscribed vanity mirrors?
During our “Glow” Ceremony, each girl receives a custom-inscribed mirror. Architecturally, this represents the “Final Inspection” and “Reflection.” It serves as a tangible reminder that she is the Architect of her own future. When she looks in the mirror, she doesn’t just see herself; she sees the person capable of designing and advocating for her own life.
Is this program only for girls who are struggling academically?
Not at all. Even the most brilliant design requires a solid foundation. Many high-achieving girls struggle with the “load-bearing” stress of perfectionism or disorganized executive functions. We work with girls across the entire spectrum of achievement to ensure their internal structures are as strong as their external ambitions.
How is my donation allocated?
We believe in Financial Transparency. 80% of every dollar goes directly into program construction—covering the costs of mentor training, the “My Inner Advocate” curriculum, and materials for the Glow Ceremony. The remaining 20% ensures our organizational structural integrity (administration and fundraising) so we can continue serving girls for years to come.
How can I get involved if I’m not a Lead Architect?
Every structure needs a community of builders. Beyond financial contributions, you can support us by joining the Advocate’s Gala planning committee, becoming a volunteer Lead Architect (if you have a professional background in mentorship), or simply by sharing our mission with your professional network to help us expand to reach more girls.
